Introduction and Future Vision

 

Hello and Welcome to Lean Mo Theine Design Workshop

I'm Rory and I have had a passion for Wood Working, Modelling & Model Making and Construction since I can remember. This stems from my earliest memories as a child, from my Father who was always building, constructing and indeed gardening all through my childhood, and I was always following him about asking questions and 'helping out', and also from my Grandpa, John MacNaught, who was a Joiner & Cartwright to trade and he passed on his love of wood and carpentry when I was small.

I have worked as a Professional in the Construction Industry since leaving school and have decided to change my outlook and am now pursuing an admittedly hazy vision of the future of building smaller and more aesthetic projects of my own.

The purpose of this blog is really for my own purposes and to document my journey of exploration into wood working and model making under my own steam and share the trials and successes and announcments of future directions. I'll also be sharing my inspirations and things of relevant interest that hopefully will be of interest to others.

I have idea's of a commission service and maybe an online store down the line but will need to develop things a bit further before those are up and running. I'll also expand on the idea and vision behind Lean Mo Theine DWS as this develops and no doubt grows.

I have idea's for various projects under a wide spectrum of interests and will not be limiting myself to any particular avenue, and will be exploring the newer technologies of CAD based design and 3D Modelling and printing hand in hand with the more traditional hands-on ones of carpentry and model making.

We'll see where this journey takes me, and I'm looking forward to it.
